Why this toolkit exists

A curated collection of professional calculators, assessments, productivity utilities and PDF tools built by an engineer and MBA who uses them every day in real consulting engagements.

Most "free online tools" you find on the web fall into one of two traps. Either they are thin, generic utilities that exist only to capture ad impressions, or they upload your private files to anonymous servers in exchange for a "free" service. This page is different. Every tool you see below was built to solve a specific problem I, my clients or my MBA students kept running into — from calculating Dominican Republic severance pay under Law 16-92, to justifying a Power BI investment in front of a steering committee, to merging twelve quarterly PDFs the night before a board meeting.

I built them because the existing alternatives were either too expensive, too generic, too privacy-invasive, or simply did not exist in Spanish. They are all genuinely free, with no registration, no email wall, no watermark, and no upload to a remote server unless absolutely required. Where it is technically possible to keep your data on your device, I do — that is why our entire PDF suite (merge, split, compress, sign, PDF to Word, PDF to JPG, Excel to PDF) runs 100% in your browser using WebAssembly and pdf.js.

Who these tools are designed for

How we handle your data

Privacy is not a marketing claim on this site — it is the architecture. All of our PDF and document utilities run entirely inside your browser. When you merge two PDFs, the JavaScript engine in your tab reads the bytes, combines them and offers you a download link — the files never leave your device, no copy is uploaded, no temporary cache survives the session. The same applies to the Excel-to-PDF converter, the PDF signer, the resume generator, and the compress / split / convert utilities.

For calculators and assessments, we do not store inputs on our servers either. The Eisenhower matrix, the digital maturity diagnostic and the resume generator persist data in your browser's local storage so you can come back tomorrow and pick up where you left off — but that data lives on your computer, not on ours. The only exceptions are tools that need to generate a verifiable PDF for a third party (such as the IT customer service evaluation, which deliberately includes a verification code so HR can confirm authenticity); even then, the report is generated client-side and emailed only when you explicitly send it.

This approach has a real cost: certain advanced features that would be trivial with a backend become much harder when everything runs in the browser. We accept that trade-off because the alternative — routing your confidential files through someone else's server — is unacceptable for the people we built these tools for: HR professionals handling employee data, founders modeling unannounced products, lawyers reviewing draft contracts, and students working on graded assignments.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools really free? What is the catch?

Yes, completely free. No registration, no email wall, no usage limits, no watermark. The site is monetized through unobtrusive ads and through occasional consulting clients who find their way here through the blog. That is the entire business model.

Will the PDF tools work with large files (100+ pages)?

They will, but performance depends on your device's RAM and processor. Because everything runs locally, a 500-page scanned PDF on an old laptop may take a few minutes, while the same file on a modern machine takes a few seconds. As a rule of thumb, files under 50 MB process instantly on any device built after 2018.

Why is the labor calculator specific to the Dominican Republic?

Because it implements the actual scales of Ley 16-92 — the Dominican Labor Code — including the prior-notice and severance tables that vary by years of service and reason for termination. Other countries have completely different rules, so a generic calculator would be misleading. If you are based in Mexico, Spain or another Latin American country, the break-even and ROI calculators are universal and will serve you well.

Can I use these results in a formal business case or audit?

The math is correct and the methodology is documented on each tool's page. For internal decision-making, board presentations and academic assignments, they are appropriate as-is. For audited financial statements, regulatory filings or litigation, treat the output as a first-draft estimate that should be reviewed by your accountant, lawyer or HR specialist.

I am missing a tool. Can I request one?

Absolutely. The roadmap is driven by what readers and consulting clients actually ask for. Use the contact form at the bottom of the home page to describe the problem you are trying to solve, and if it fits the audience here it usually shows up in this catalog within a couple of weeks.

Do these tools work offline?

Once a tool page has loaded, most of them continue to work even if your internet connection drops, because all processing happens in your browser. The exceptions are tools that need to fetch an external font or library on first load. As a workaround, you can save the page (File → Save Page As) for full offline use.
